Amazon’s four-day Prime Day summer sale has launched with major discounts on Apple hardware. The event features record-low prices on the newly released AirPods Max 2 and steep price cuts across the upgraded M5 MacBook lineup.
What happened
The sale runs from Tuesday, June 23, through Friday, June 27. Apple hardware discounts cover everything from iPads and Apple Watches to the newest Mac laptops.
The standout deal is Apple’s AirPods Max 2. Normally priced at a steep $549, the headphones are currently marked down to $399.
This $150 discount is the lowest price recorded since the model debuted two months ago.
MacBook prices have also dropped. Apple recently updated its MacBook Pro and MacBook Air lines with M5 chips.
The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air now starts at $949, a $150 discount from its $1,099 retail price. The 15-inch M5 MacBook Air is also $150 off, bringing it to $1,149.
For heavier workloads, the 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro is down to $1,549. This is $150 off the new $1,699 base price.
Other notable deals include $150 off the 13-inch iPad Pro and $110 off the iPad Air. The iPad mini is currently $100 off.
Wearables and standard earbuds are also discounted. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is $150 off, while the Apple Watch Series 11 is $120 off.
Standard AirPods 4 and the active noise-canceling versions both feature a $30 discount.
Why it matters
These discounts help offset Apple’s recent base price increases. When Apple released the M5 MacBook models in March, the company doubled the starting storage but raised the entry prices.
The base M5 MacBook Pro jumped from $1,599 to $1,699. However, the machine now includes a 1-terabyte drive.
The M5 MacBook Air increased from $999 to $1,099. This bump upgraded the base model from 256 gigabytes to 512 gigabytes of storage.
The Prime Day price cuts bring these upgraded machines back down below their previous generation’s starting prices. Buyers get double the storage without paying the new premium.
The catch
Not every new Apple product is seeing a massive discount. Apple’s newest budget laptop, the MacBook Neo, is largely excluded from the Prime Day frenzy.
The Neo starts at $599. Amazon is currently offering a meager $9 discount on both the 256-gigabyte and 512-gigabyte models.
Additionally, the M5 MacBook Air deals do not match the historic lows of last year. During the 2025 Prime Day sale, entry-level M4 MacBook Airs dropped as low as $749.
The current M5 Air bottoms out at $949. The higher base storage simply means a higher floor price.
What to verify
Amazon prices fluctuate rapidly during the four-day Prime Day window. The $399 AirPods Max 2 deal is listed as a Deal of the Day and may expire quickly.
Inventory levels for specific colors and storage configurations often sell out before the event ends on June 27.
Shoppers should confirm the exact chip and storage specs before checking out. Third-party sellers sometimes mix older M4 models into the search results.
