Dramatic Arrest at Gatwick Airport
In a dramatic turn of events, British police stormed a plane at Gatwick Airport, leading to the arrest of three individuals. Urfan Sharif, aged 41, his partner Beinash Batool, aged 29, and his brother Faisal Malik found themselves in cuffs after landing back in the UK.

The trio had been on the run in Pakistan for nearly five weeks before their return to Gatwick Airport. Upon arrival, British officers immediately removed them from the plane. Pictures show around a dozen officers boarding the Emirates flight and escorting a man in handcuffs. Passengers were informed of a “technical issue” and asked to remain in their seats.
A passenger recounted the incident, saying, “We were then told police were coming for a security matter. About a dozen police came on board, came up to business class, and these guys stood up. They didn’t look particularly surprised. I don’t know if it was arranged or if they suspected what would happen.”
The passenger noted that it appeared the men had been asleep for the entire flight to London. After handcuffing them, officers asked if they had any bags, and subsequently, some officers escorted them off the plane while others conducted a search around their seats.
This arrest follows the revelation that Sharif, Batool, and Malik are suspects in a murder case. A police spokesperson explained, “Our investigation into the death of 10-year-old Sara Sharif was launched following the discovery of her body at her home address in Hammond Road, Woking, on August 10. This evening, around 7.45 pm, three people were arrested in connection with this investigation at Gatwick Airport. Two men, aged 41 years and 28 years, and a woman, aged 29 years, were arrested on suspicion of murder after disembarking a flight from Dubai.”
Sara’s mother has been informed of the latest developments and is receiving support from specialized officers. The authorities emphasized their dedication to conducting a thorough investigation into Sara’s death.
The trio had left Britain with Sara’s uncle Faisal Malik and five children aged between one and 13 before going into hiding. Interpol initiated an international manhunt, with Pakistani police cooperating with their counterparts in the UK.
The recent arrest follows a video that emerged last week, in which Sharif and Batool read a statement about their situation. Batool expressed her family’s willingness to cooperate with UK authorities but expressed concerns about their living conditions and safety, noting that the children were unable to attend school due to fear.
Sara’s body was discovered after Sharif called 999 from Pakistan. An inquest into Sara’s death revealed that medical professionals were unable to determine the exact cause of death but suggested it was likely unnatural, as a previous post-mortem had shown she suffered “multiple and extensive injuries likely caused over a sustained and extended period of time.”
