The search area covers Routes 23 and 100, Fairview and Nantmeal Roads, and Iron Bridge and County Park Roads, as per Pennsylvania State Police. Schools Closed Again
The Owen J. Roberts School District has announced the closure of all its schools and offices. This decision comes after discussions with local law enforcement. The closure is set for Wednesday, 9/13.

Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens pledged to persist in the hunt for Cavalcante until he’s found. However, he cautioned that this thorough search might take a while.
Cavalcante’s Appearance
Cavalcante, now believed to be shirtless and wearing blue pants, recently pilfered work boots from a porch. Additionally, he swiped a .22-caliber rifle with a scope and ammunition from an open garage. The homeowner confronted him and fired several shots, but authorities believe Cavalcante remains unharmed. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Escape and Background
Cavalcante managed to escape from a Chester County facility on August 31st while awaiting transfer to a state prison. He was serving a life sentence for fatally stabbing an ex-girlfriend in 2021. Prosecutors claim he committed this act to prevent her from revealing his involvement in a murder case in Brazil, his home country.
The Daring Escape
Officials released a video of Cavalcante’s dramatic escape last week. It shows him crab-walking up a wall, navigating razor wire, running across the roof, scaling another fence, and pushing through more razor wire before making his exit.

Authorities have offered a $25,000 reward for information that leads to Cavalcante’s capture.
