Woman Sexually Assaulted in Rotherham Subway: Suspect in Custody
In a concerning incident, a woman was reportedly sexually assaulted while walking through a subway in College Road, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The incident occurred at 11:30 pm yesterday, and local authorities have taken swift action.
A 29-year-old man has been apprehended and is currently in police custody on suspicion of sexual assault. This arrest followed shortly after the alleged attack took place.

This includes a man who bravely intervened to assist the victim, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. Detective Sergeant Janine Broughton, leading the investigation, emphasized the importance of these testimonies. She stated, “We are particularly keen to speak to a man who intervened to help the victim, causing the suspect to flee the scene. We also would like to speak to two women who may have spoken to the suspect shortly before the incident.”
