Tyler Cameron Reacts to Matt James' Mom Joining The Golden Bachelor Cast

Tyler Cameron, known for his presence on reality TV, had a humorous response to the news of Patty James, the mother of Matt James, joining the cast of the upcoming show The Golden Bachelor. On August 30, Tyler, 30, shared a post from Patty's social media on his Instagram Story. The post featured Patty alongside other mature contestants in search of love. Tyler playfully wrote, "Looking fine as frog hairs," and tagged Matt, 31, in the post.

Patty James originally shared her excitement with a headshot and cast photo. She commented, "Sooo exciting," after the official announcement of the show's inaugural season cast. Fans of the show, including fellow Bachelor alums, showed their support and enthusiasm in the comments. Even Hannah Brown, newly engaged and Tyler's ex, cheerfully exclaimed, "PATTY! So exciting!!"

Rachael Kirkconnell, Matt's girlfriend, expressed her excitement by writing, "She’s ready to find love," while Matt himself added heart emojis to show his love and support for his mom.

Matt James entered the reality TV scene after Tyler's appearance on The Bachelorette in 2019. Initially selected for Clare Crawley's season in 2020, Matt became the Bachelor for the 2021 season due to filming delays caused by COVID-19.

Matt and Rachael, both 26, made a strong connection during The Bachelor season 25. While Matt didn't propose at the end of the season, he and Rachael continued to date off the show. They faced some controversy when old photos of Rachael attending a themed party surfaced, but their relationship remained steady.

The Golden Bachelor follows Gerry Turner, who seeks love again after losing his wife in 2017. Alongside Patty, the cast features contestants aged between 60 and 75.

Fans had speculated that Patty might follow in her son's footsteps, appearing on reality TV. However, Matt and Rachael confirmed in July that they were unsure if Patty had been cast. They expressed excitement and support for her potential journey to find love on TV.

Patty, who was previously married to Matt's estranged father, Manny James, faced challenges as a single parent raising Matt. The Golden Bachelor premieres on ABC on Thursday, September 28, at 8 p.m. ET.
