Escaped Murderer Danelo Cavalcante Spotted Again in Pennsylvania Botanical Garden

Pennsylvania State Police have provided crucial updates on the recent sighting of fugitive murderer Danelo Cavalcante. On Friday, authorities confirmed that Cavalcante had been caught on a trail camera once more, this time in a botanical garden within Pennsylvania.

"I believe he becomes more desperate. I believe he has always been very dangerous and I've said that from the start. He's already murdered two people — one in Brazil and one here in a very brutal manner," stated Lt. Col. George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police.

"He's a very dangerous individual, and he remains so," added Bivens.

Cavalcante, who escaped from Chester County Prison on August 31, has been repeatedly spotted at Longwood Gardens on Wednesday night. Following this development, the botanical garden, situated in Chester County, promptly announced its closure "until further notice" due to the possibility of Cavalcante's presence in the area.

Law enforcement remains determined to capture Cavalcante, who is still believed to be within the search zone, as the manhunt enters its ninth day. The focus now shifts towards securing the perimeter of the search zone to prevent his escape before moving in for the arrest.

It is believed that the combination of the hot weather and the physical demands of his escape attempt are taking a toll on Cavalcante's physical condition.

Surveillance footage released by the prison revealed that Cavalcante, a 34-year-old from Brazil, escaped by crab walking up a wall, navigating razor wire, and leaping from a roof. Notably, another inmate had attempted a similar escape from the same prison in May but was captured within just five minutes.

Last month, Cavalcante was convicted for the 2021 murder of his ex-girlfriend and subsequently sentenced to life in prison.
