Kansas City Woman Accused of Misusing Father's Benefits, Faces Extradition After Father's Remains Found Buried

A startling turn of events has led to the extradition of a woman from Kansas City, Missouri, to Nevada. The Nye County Sheriff’s Office revealed that they discovered the remains of a man buried in his own yard, sparking a complex investigation.

The case began to unfold back in April when Bruce Brown, a 95-year-old man, mysteriously disappeared. Authorities initiated a search that eventually led them to Gennice Walker, Brown's daughter, residing in Kansas City.

It came to light that Walker had been financially relying on her father's Social Security and VA Benefits. During the course of the investigation, detectives received information indicating that Walker might have buried her father's body in the desert.

However, cooperation was lacking as Walker declined to provide information about the benefits or her father's whereabouts. This led to her arrest on a larceny warrant since she refused to cooperate.

Following her return from Missouri, investigators obtained a search warrant for a property in Pahrump, Nevada. Their search of the backyard unearthed a homemade coffin containing human remains.

An autopsy confirmed that these remains were indeed those of Bruce Brown. Walker is presently in custody in Kansas City, awaiting extradition to Nye County, Nevada.
