Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Three, Including Children

In a devastating incident on Friday afternoon in Hinckley, Leicestershire, three lives were tragically lost in a collision between a silver BMW car and a lorry on the A5. Among the victims were a man in his 30s and two young children, a four-year-old girl, and a nine-year-old boy.

Emergency Response Teams on Scene

The incident, which occurred near Burbage at 4:24 pm, prompted a swift response from emergency services, including the West Midlands Ambulance Service, East Midlands Ambulance Service, and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service. Despite their efforts, the driver of the car and the nine-year-old boy were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Injured Passengers Rushed to Hospital

A woman in her 30s and the four-year-old girl, both passengers in the car, were transported to the hospital. Tragically, the young girl succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital, while the woman remains in a serious but stable condition.

Lorry Driver Unharmed

Fortunately, the driver of the lorry escaped the collision without serious injuries.

Road Closure and Ongoing Investigation

Following the incident, a road closure was put in place to facilitate the work of emergency services. The road was reopened around 12:25 am the following day. Law enforcement officers are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
