Capture of Fugitive Murderer: Aerial Video Reveals Dramatic Arrest

In a dramatic turn of events on a Wednesday morning in Pennsylvania, law enforcement officers apprehended fugitive murderer Danelo Cavalcante. Aerial footage captured this intense moment as tactical officers posed for a group photo after successfully removing Cavalcante from a forest.

Approximately 30 officers donned tactical gear, surrounding the handcuffed suspect. Cavalcante, visibly injured with a head wound from a K-9 bite, was escorted to the center of a parking lot, where officers lined up and shared a moment, saying "cheese."

The video, obtained by FOX 29 Philadelphia, showcases the 34-year-old killer encircled by members of the U.S. Border Patrol's BORTAC unit and the Special Emergency Response Team of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Cavalcante Captured Alive

In a surprising twist, Danelo Cavalcante was captured alive, and not a single shot was fired during his arrest. This successful operation was executed without incident, according to officials.

Two K-9 officers involved in the apprehension were also photographed during the operation.

PSP Lt. Col. George Bivens, speaking at a news briefing shortly after Cavalcante's arrest, praised the hard work of the officers, remarking, "Those men and women worked amazingly hard, through some very trying circumstances. I’m not bothered at all by the fact that they took a photograph with him in custody."

"They’re proud of their work," he added. "They kept the community safe. I say thanks to them and good job."

Escape and Pursuit

Cavalcante's escape had taken place on August 31, as he was captured on jailhouse surveillance video scaling a narrow alcove. Managing to reach the facility's roof, he navigated through razor wire and fled from custody.

While on the run, he allegedly stole food, clothing, and even a rifle from local residents. One homeowner attempted to shoot him during his escape from their property.

Authorities diligently maintained a perimeter, preventing Cavalcante from leaving the area, and eventually tracked him down after a sighting the night before his capture.

Future Legal Proceedings

Cavalcante will now be transferred to a state correctional facility where he will serve a life sentence for the murder of his ex-girlfriend in 2021. Additionally, he is a suspect in a 2017 murder case in Brazil.

This daring arrest marks the end of a tense manhunt that kept the community on edge.
