Florida Man Accused of Poisoning Neighbors' Family Through Door

A shocking incident in Florida has left a family rattled as a father claims his infant daughter experienced unexplained hair loss before uncovering his neighbor's alleged sinister act. The neighbor, identified as former chemistry student Xuming Li, was caught on a hidden camera injecting poison under their apartment door.

Umar Abdullah, 36, the father of the affected family, revealed that after capturing the suspect on camera, his daughter's hair loss seemed to return to normal. Abdullah stated, "So, now we think it was a result of the attack." Furthermore, he noticed his own hair thinning, with clumps found on pillows and in the shower drain.

Disturbingly, the family also faced bouts of illness since June in their Tampa apartment. Their infant daughter would refuse to eat and vomit, while Abdullah and his wife suffered from headaches and dizziness. These symptoms were often preceded by noxious fumes entering through their front door.

The situation escalated when Abdullah set up a hidden camera outside his apartment, capturing Xuming Li allegedly injecting a toxic substance under their door. The substance was later identified as containing opioids methadone and hydrocodone by hazmat experts. Li was arrested on charges including battery and burglary, subsequently expelled from the University of South Florida, where he was pursuing a doctorate.

The chilling detail that stands out is that Li, who lived below the Abdullahs, has his own family – a wife and two children under the age of 2. Umar Abdullah expressed his disbelief, stating, "We cannot imagine that a parent could do this."

Though Li faces charges, the family's ordeal continues, as they await a comprehensive toxicology report from the FBI. The family fears potential long-term effects on their infant daughter due to chemical exposure.

Li's actions have led to a lawsuit by the homeowners' association, ultimately resulting in his eviction from the apartment. The family's trauma remains, even after his departure.
