Doctor Accused of Sharing Explicit Content with Colleague at GP Practice

In a recent tribunal, allegations emerged that Dr. Thomas Plimmer, aged 40, shared explicit photos and videos of himself engaged in sexual activities with multiple women, including a colleague, while working at his GP practice. These events are said to have occurred over a span of two years.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal revealed that Dr. Plimmer exchanged approximately 5,000 text messages with his colleague during this period.

The relationship between Dr. Plimmer and his colleague reportedly began with suggestive comments regarding a chocolate rabbit he gifted to staff in Easter 2018, shortly after the colleague joined the practice. Subsequently, they engaged in weekly sexual encounters at the surgery in Swindon, Wiltshire. The colleague claims that these encounters were not consensual, while Dr. Plimmer maintains that they were.

The colleague expressed that she felt pressured and believed there was an expectation to share sexually suggestive jokes with Dr. Plimmer. She mentioned a perceived power imbalance and that Dr. Plimmer had initially pushed her boundaries. She described an unexpected incident where he shared 197 explicit images of other women with her.

During the tribunal, Dr. Plimmer's lawyer, Tom Day, questioned the colleague, asking if she had encouraged Dr. Plimmer's advances. She responded that within an abusive dynamic, such actions might be expected, but she could not recall clearly. She felt that she was treated as though she were being paid for such interactions.

Additional allegations surfaced, indicating that Dr. Plimmer had engaged in explicit activities at his workplace and sent explicit images of himself to another woman, which he admitted to. It is worth noting that Dr. Plimmer is currently reported to operate a Mind, Body, and Emotional Wellness clinic in Gloucester, having been educated at Cambridge.
