Officers Hospitalized After Suspect Unleashes Aggressive Dogs in Chicago

In a concerning incident on Sunday, three officers from the Chicago Police Department found themselves hospitalized after a suspect released two aggressive dogs. The event unfolded as they were conducting an investigation in the 4000 block of West Wilcox Avenue in West Garfield Park.

The situation escalated when a female suspect attempted to intervene at approximately 11:22 a.m. An unknown individual then let loose the two canines, leading to a dangerous encounter. The officers suffered dog bites during the incident, and one of them had to discharge their weapon to protect themselves, ultimately injuring one of the dogs.

Fortunately, the officers were swiftly taken to a local hospital and are reported to be in good condition. However, the current status of the dogs remains unknown.
