Bruce Springsteen Cancels September Tour Dates Due to Health Issue

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen, at 73 years old, has made the tough decision to cancel the September portion of his tour due to a peptic ulcer. Springsteen, along with his backing band E Street, shared this news on his official website as per doctors' advice.

Originally, the "Born To Run" singer had performances scheduled for this month, starting with a show in Syracuse, New York. He was also set to hit other venues across the United States, including Washington DC, Baltimore, Connecticut, and Ohio. However, these shows will be rescheduled for later dates.

In a heartfelt message posted on his social media and website, Springsteen expressed his sadness about the unexpected turn of events. He said, "Over here on E Street, we're heartbroken to have to postpone these shows. We'll be back to pick up these shows and then some. We've been having a blast at our US shows and we're looking forward to more great times. We'll be back soon."

Springsteen also offered his apologies to his "fabulous" fans in Philadelphia, where he had to cancel shows a few weeks earlier due to illness. He mentioned his "peptic ulcer" in the statement, explaining that it's a condition causing open sores in the stomach or small intestine, which can lead to heartburn, nausea, and severe stomach pain.

Known for his high-energy, marathon concerts that often last three hours or more, Springsteen had recently performed three nights of shows in his home state of New Jersey. His tour had taken him to Europe, including London, and marked his first tour with the E Street Band since February 2017 and their first in North America since September 2016.

During the tour, Springsteen and his band headlined the British Summertime Festival in London's Hyde Park in July. Notable attendees included eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer, Peter Gabriel, Billy Joel, and Jon Bon Jovi, who enjoyed the three-hour set.

As of now, Springsteen's tour with the E Street Band is set to conclude on December 12 with the final concert in San Francisco.
