Desperate Search for Missing Three-Year-Old Girl Amidst Assault Incident

Lancashire Police have launched an urgent search for a three-year-old girl named Autumn, who went missing after her father fled the scene of an assault this morning. The incident took place in the early hours, and Simon Cooney, a 35-year-old from Preston, is currently wanted by the authorities.

In the unsettling incident, a woman was both punched in the face and bitten before exiting the vehicle. Simon Cooney then made a hasty escape from Kingscote Park, Blackpool, at around 4 a.m., with little Autumn in the backseat. The abandoned car was subsequently discovered on Lakeway, Blackpool, prompting a heightened search effort by the police.

"Anywhere" is the Question

Lancashire Police spokespersons expressed concern, stating that the father and daughter "could have travelled anywhere" since the incident. This has intensified the sense of urgency in locating them.

Simon Cooney is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a slim build, shaven head, and a beard. He has connections to both Blackpool and Preston. Autumn, the missing child, boasts shoulder-length blonde hair.

Inspector Stephen Brazil, part of the Blackpool Police, emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying, "We are extremely worried about Autumn and need to find her and make sure she is safe as a matter of urgency." He also noted that Simon Cooney needs to be located regarding the "nasty assault" that unfolded earlier that day.

Brazil issued clear instructions to the public, advising, "If you see Simon, please do not approach him, but contact us straight away on 999. Similarly, if you see Autumn, please tell us immediately by calling 999."
