Virginia Mother Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Twin Brothers Next Door
A 37-year-old woman from Virginia, Ashleigh Watts, has been arrested for reportedly sexually abusing two twin brothers who lived next door. The alleged illicit relationship had been ongoing for several months. The situation came to light when her husband caught her in a compromising situation with one of the teenage neighbors.
Court documents obtained by People indicate that Watts had been involved in a sexual relationship with one of the 15-year-olds since June 2022. The Chesapeake Police Department received an anonymous tip about the predatory relationship on February 22.
During subsequent interviews, Watts’ husband informed investigators that he discovered his wife in a topless state with one of the boys around 2 a.m. on one occasion, while the teen pretended to be asleep on the couch.
Illicit Relationship Uncovered
Ashleigh Watts, a 37-year-old resident of Chesapeake, Virginia, was arrested on August 17. She faces three counts of indecency with a minor due to her alleged involvement in sexual contact with two 15-year-old twin boys over several months, as stated by the Chesapeake Police Department.
According to the teen’s parents, he initially told them that he had visited Watts’ home to smoke marijuana and had fallen asleep on her couch. He denied any sexual activity between them. However, the teen later disclosed to his father that he had engaged in sexual activity with Watts multiple times.
Love and Plans for the Future
The teen confided in a neighbor about his feelings for Watts, claiming they were in love. He even mentioned that once he turned 17, Watts intended to leave her husband and marry him. Some time after this conversation, the teen went missing, causing concern for his parents.
Police eventually located the missing teen in Watts’ home, concealed in a crawl space, after removing a mattress from an upstairs bedroom. The teen was found wearing only his boxers.
Unusual Behavior
During the investigation, it was noted that Watts exhibited unusual behavior. She made officers wait before allowing them to enter her home, as she put on a bra and attended to her dogs. In addition, Watts had been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor on July 26.
Protective Orders and Legal Proceedings
Both the twin brothers’ parents and Watts’ husband obtained protective orders against her. Large amounts of cash, a prepaid cellphone, and marijuana were discovered in her home during her arrest.
Watts was charged with three counts of indecent acts with a child on August 17 and was subsequently released on bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 24. If convicted, she could face up to 30 years in prison. Watts’ current legal stance remains unclear, as she has not made a public statement or disclosed whether she has obtained legal representation.
