Utah Video Shows Horses Dragged Behind Pickup Truck
In a disturbing incident that unfolded on September 8 in Farmington, Utah, a video captured two horses being dragged behind a pickup truck along a residential street. The footage, shared by concerned residents, has sparked outrage in the community.
Amberly Powers, who provided the home security camera footage, described the horrifying scene. She explained that the driver of the pickup truck did not halt the distressing act until reaching a stop sign, despite onlookers urging him to stop.
Powers, who was the woman with the long ponytail seen in the video, recounted her interaction with the driver. His only response as she approached to take more photos was, “This horse is stubborn!”
Don Evans, a neighbor, also had surveillance footage capturing the livestock tethered to the back of the vehicle. Though he was not at home at the time, a concerned neighbor asked him to review his cameras.
Upon viewing the footage of one of the horses struggling to keep up with the moving truck, Evans expressed his deep shock and dismay, saying, “Sick to my stomach, outraged, disbelief. I have not seen this amount of reckless disregard in my life; it’s horrendous. There’s a lot of outrage in the community over this.”
Evans’ footage, shared by Powers, depicted one of the horses being dragged on its side until someone intervened to help it stand up.
Evans criticized the lack of thought behind the act, saying, “Just the mindset and the lack of thought process that went into this is disturbing. Several different options could have been approached, but for whatever reason, this individual thought this was the best option to fit his needs.”
Farmington police stated that the incident does not qualify as animal cruelty. The investigation has been taken over by Animal Care of Davis County. Fox News Digital has reached out for an update on the situation but has not received a response at this time.
