Pentagon Reports Over 270 UFO Sightings in Recent Months
The Pentagon has confirmed over 270 reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena, often referred to as UAPs or UFOs, reported to the U.S. government in the past eight months.
In an unclassified report released by the Department of Defense on Tuesday, it was revealed that from August 31, 2022, to April 30, 2023, there were 274 new reports submitted to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office. This office leads the government’s efforts to document and analyze reports of UFOs/UAPs.
Most of these reports come from members of the military and commercial pilots.
Furthermore, the Department of Defense began investigating 17 sightings that occurred between 2019 and 2022, which had not been previously included in official reports.
As of April 30, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office has received a total of 801 UFO reports.
It’s important to note that while UFOs/UAPs in airspace are considered a potential hazard, none of the reported cases were directly in the path of a plane or in unsafe proximity to military aircraft.
The report also emphasizes that none of the UFO reports have been confirmed as originating from foreign sources, but investigations are ongoing.
The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office delivers this report to Congress on an annual basis.
Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder underscored the priority of safety for service personnel during UFO investigations. Ryder stated, “The safety of our service personnel, our bases and installations, and the protection of U.S. operations security on land, in the skies, seas, and space are paramount. We take reports of incursions into our designated space, land, sea, or airspaces seriously and examine each one.”
In short, the government has seen a significant increase in UFO reports, and while they are investigating, they haven’t confirmed them as originating from foreign sources. Safety remains a top concern during these investigations.
