Tributes to girl, 8, who died after falling from tower block balcony in Portsmouth

Tributes Pour In for Eight-Year-Old Girl Who Tragically Fell From Tower Block

A heartfelt outpouring of tributes continues for Minnie, an eight-year-old girl who tragically lost her life after falling from the Pickwick House, an 11-storey tower block in Portsmouth, Hampshire, on August 24.

Despite the swift response of emergency services, they were unable to save the young girl. Police have reported the arrest of a 43-year-old woman on suspicion of neglect, who has since been released on bail until November 24.

In memory of Minnie, a fundraising initiative has been launched to create a special place for her siblings and family to remember her. Portsmouth resident Lisa Knight is spearheading the campaign on behalf of Minnie’s family, and it has already garnered approximately £1,400 in contributions.

Mrs. Knight expressed her intentions, stating, “All funds raised will be dedicated to hosting a memorial gathering for Minnie and installing a commemorative bench at a meaningful location for Minnie’s siblings and family to visit and cherish her memory. I am undertaking this initiative on behalf of her mother, with her consent, as she is understandably not in a position to organize this herself.”
