Train Derailment Halts Penn Station Service
Train services to and from Penn Station New York ground to a halt this Tuesday morning due to a train derailment near the entrance of the Lincoln Tunnel, according to authorities.
Midtown direct services have been redirected to Hoboken as transit officials work to resolve the issue.
On social media, commuters shared their experiences with the disruption caused by the train derailment. One passenger, Rich Haskell, asked, “So we’ve ‘derailed’ in the tunnel under the Hudson. Packed standing room only train. How do we get out, and how long might this take?”
Another user mentioned that train #3926 derailed “right at the entrance to Lincoln tunnel,” but reassured that all passengers were okay as the train was moving at a slow speed.
As this situation unfolds, stay tuned for updates on the incident.
