Tragedy Strikes as 10-Year-Old Boy Passes Away in Rope Swing Accident

In a heartbreaking incident, a 10-year-old boy named Lewi Sullivan lost his life while playing on a rope swing in South Wales. The young boy had been enjoying a day out with his friends, riding his bike when the tragic accident unfolded.

Despite the desperate efforts of medical professionals, Lewi Sullivan, a resident of Rassau in Blaenau Gwent, could not be saved and passed away on Monday. His grieving father, Nigel Sullivan, paid tribute to his son, describing Lewi as “the best child a dad could ask for.” Lewi’s two brothers, his mother Falina, and stepmother Louise also cherished him deeply. Nigel shared that Lewi was known for his lovable mischievousness, a character with a great sense of humor. He had a passion for rugby, motorbikes, and enjoyed spending time with his father in lorries and machines.

Lewi’s warm personality earned him the love and affection of everyone in his community, as he was always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone he met.

When the accident occurred, Lewi’s friends immediately called for help, and brave members of the public rushed to assist until emergency services arrived. He was then transported to Noah’s Ark at the Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, where he received critical pediatric care on a specialized unit. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical team, Lewi Sullivan tragically passed away.

Lewi’s Beaufort rugby club paid tribute to him on Facebook, remembering him as “the funniest and most outgoing little lad” who loved playing rugby for the club. His loss will be deeply felt by many.

A fundraiser has been set up in Lewi’s memory to support his family during this difficult time.
