TikTok monster Mahek Bukhari to appeal against murder conviction after she killed mum’s lover in fireball crash

TikTok Influencer Appeals Conviction for Murder After Fireball Crash

In a bid to overturn her murder conviction, a TikTok influencer, Mahek Bukhari, has launched an appeal after being found guilty of killing her mother’s lover in a fiery crash. Mahek, 24, along with her mother Ansreen Bukhari, 45, devised a plan to eliminate Saqib Hussain, 21, who had been blackmailing Ansreen with explicit videos.

The tragic incident occurred when Saqib and his friend Hashim Ijazuddin were driving at 100mph and were forced off the road in Leicestershire, resulting in a fatal crash. Mahek was sentenced to 31 years and eight months in prison for what was described as a “cold-blooded” murder.

Mahek’s legal representative has now confirmed her intention to request permission for an appeal against the conviction. If the appeal is granted, her case will be taken to the Court of Appeal, where the conviction might be overturned. Even if the initial appeal is denied, there remains a possibility for a further appeal in front of a panel of higher judges.

Saqib had been romantically involved with Ansreen for about three years and was deeply infatuated with her. After the relationship took an obsessive turn and Ansreen tried to end it, Saqib resorted to blackmailing her with explicit content. In a plot that unfolded in February last year, Mahek and her mother lured Saqib to a car park under the pretense of returning the £3,000 he had spent on Ansreen.

The fatal crash occurred when Saqib’s car was rammed off the road and collided with a tree on the central reservation. Both Saqib and Hashim lost their lives in the tragic event. Despite denying the charges, Mahek and her mother were convicted of murder after a retrial.

Ansreen Bukhari was also sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 26 years and nine months. Others involved in the incident received varying sentences as well. The investigation and trial revealed that the defendants showed no remorse and failed to offer assistance to the victims after the crash.

Detective Inspector Mark Parish of the Leicestershire Police condemned the callous actions of the individuals involved, describing the incident as a heartless attack that took the lives of two men. He highlighted the lack of empathy shown by the defendants and their efforts to conceal the truth during the investigation.

The case sheds light on the consequences of a tragic chain of events that led to the loss of lives and the pursuit of justice in the aftermath.
