Texas Man Arrested After His Dog Attacks Elderly Man
A 33-year-old Texas resident, Kelly Max Oshaughnessy, found himself in serious trouble after his unleashed dog brutally attacked a 68-year-old man over the weekend. Authorities in Bexar County have charged Oshaughnessy with serious bodily injury to an elderly person and an attack by a dangerous dog. Furthermore, his dog has been taken into custody by animal control for a mandatory 10-day quarantine period.
The unsettling incident unfolded on a Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m., according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. A distress call was made by a concerned neighbor who reported that her father was under attack by a loose dog right after returning from his morning walk.
Responding swiftly to the alarming call, a brave neighbor who heard the victim’s screams rushed outside to lend a hand. He managed to intervene and successfully stopped the dog from causing further harm to the elderly man.
The victim, a 68-year-old man, revealed to the authorities that he had crossed paths with this aggressive dog on previous occasions. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for necessary medical attention.
The injuries sustained by the victim were substantial, including multiple puncture wounds to both legs, the groin area, and the head, as reported by the police.
When questioned by officers, Kelly Max Oshaughnessy admitted that his dog had caused harm to neighbors in the past. He stated that he had received complaints from multiple people in the neighborhood about his dog’s behavior, although nothing as severe as this incident had occurred before.
