Tent Collapse in Suburban Chicago Injures 26 People
In a startling incident, a tent collapse in suburban Chicago has left 26 people injured, according to the local police.
Chief Tom Hansen of the Bedford Park Police reported that among the injured, five individuals sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a local business.
The tent was being used for an event held in the parking lot. Multiple fire department agencies, including the Bedford Park Fire Department and others from nearby areas, responded swiftly to the scene. They transported all 26 patients to nearby hospitals for medical attention, as stated in a police news release.
The precise cause of the tent collapse remains under investigation by authorities.
Photographs taken at the site depict the tent, which partially collapsed while some parts still remained upright, alongside tables and chairs.
The location of this incident was the parking lot of a Cintas Uniform Services store in Bedford Park, situated approximately 15 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. As of now, there has been no official statement from a Cintas spokesperson regarding the incident.
