Suspected home invaders arrested in ‘targeted kidnapping’ of couple ripped from children: police

Texas Couple Kidnapped at Gunpoint, Return Home Safely as Two Men Face Charges

In a harrowing incident that unfolded in front of their five children, a Texas couple was kidnapped from their home at gunpoint but has since been safely reunited with their family. Police have arrested two men in connection with the home invasion.

Xhavier Zeke Martinez, 29, and Felipe Patricio Valdez, 40, were taken into custody, their hands restrained in handcuffs, and placed in squad cars as they were prepared for a press conference at San Antonio police headquarters to address the incident.

Sgt. Washington Moscoso revealed that dedicated detectives had worked tirelessly through the night to locate the couple whose family had been violently torn apart.

The victims, a man and woman whose identities are being withheld for their safety, were forcibly taken from their home in a white SUV around 6 a.m. at Mission Bell on Wednesday.

According to Moscoso, armed individuals entered their home and abducted the couple, and it was evident that this was not a random act. He stressed that this was a targeted kidnapping aimed specifically at this family.

Today, a SWAT team swiftly moved in on the residence where the couple was held captive, and people inside began to emerge upon noticing the police presence. Both Martinez and Valdez were taken into custody without any resistance.

Moscoso did not provide details about whether the couple was physically restrained during their ordeal or how many individuals were present in the house where they were held captive. He did, however, confirm that both the man and woman had been medically cleared and were reunited with their family.

Investigators are currently scouring the property, seeking additional evidence.

Xhavier Martinez faced an existing warrant for his arrest on charges of deadly conduct with a firearm, evading arrest, and interfering with public duties.

The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office has not released further information about the ongoing search or Martinez’s previous arrests. The identity of a third individual sought in connection with the kidnapping has not been disclosed by the police.

This unsettling incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its residents.
