The surveillance video captures the heart-wrenching moment when Manyan, positioned in the center of the group, turned to remove her mask. In an unexpected twist, Porter swiftly approached from the side, drew his firearm, and fired a single shot that struck Manyan in the chest.

The shocking incident left everyone in the room stunned, including Porter himself, who placed his hands on his head in disbelief. He then approached Manyan as she lay on the floor, fighting for her life. Attorney Chelsea Lewis expressed the devastating nature of this scene, saying, “Watching Officer Maurica fight for her life on the floor of the Anacostia Neighborhood Library with her killer towering over her in her final moments was nothing short of heartbreaking.”
