In a daring incident, armed robbers broke into the St. Louis Cardinals’ complex in the Dominican Republic. Thankfully, no one got hurt during the break-in, but the burglars managed to get away with money, cellphones, jewelry, and even baseball equipment. This all happened in the early hours of the day.
The Cardinals, who were at the center of this scary event, assure everyone that their players and staff are safe. John Mozeliak, the president of baseball operations for the Cardinals, mentioned that the incident was unsettling in many ways.
Mozeliak says, “This was scary on many fronts,” in a statement. The team is now taking the situation seriously and plans to reassess its security measures at the complex.
Local authorities have also stepped in to investigate the incident. The hunt is on for those responsible.
