Cher Denies Allegations of Hiring Kidnappers

Superstar Cher has firmly denied the shocking allegations that she hired four men to kidnap her 47-year-old son, Elijah Blue Allman, from a New York City hotel room.

In an interview with People Magazine, the 77-year-old singer stated, “That rumor is not true,” and chose not to comment further on the incident.

These allegations emerged when Elijah’s estranged wife, Marie King, who is 36 years old, made the accusation during their ongoing divorce proceedings. According to Marie King, one of the four men involved in the attempted kidnapping in November 2022 claimed that Cher was behind their actions. The incident took place on the couple’s wedding anniversary, as they were trying to mend their marriage.

Cher, in her response, suggested that the incident was related to her son’s struggles with addiction. She emphasized, “I’m not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren’t. I’m a mother. This is my job – one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is.”

She went on to say, “But it’s joy, even with heartache – mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them.”

Elijah Blue Allman is the son of Cher and the late Greg Allman, a member of The Allman Brothers Band. Cher and Greg Allman were married in 1975 but divorced in 1979. Cher also has an older son, Chaz Bono, who is 54 years old and was born during her marriage to her first husband, Sonny Bono.
