Teaching Assistant Jailed for Horrific Crimes: Abusing Baby and Bragging Online
A teaching assistant, Tommy Allington, aged 25, has been sentenced to jail after committing unspeakable acts of sexual abuse against a baby. He recorded these horrifying acts and shamelessly shared them online with other individuals involved in child exploitation.
The shocking truth about Allington’s actions only came to light when authorities were informed about indecent images on the social platform Instagram. Subsequently, a concealed phone containing videos of Allington sexually abusing the baby was discovered in his attic. The evidence revealed that he had distributed these disturbing clips and images on a messaging app known as Telegram, using the username “AngelBoy,” where he arrogantly boasted about his heinous deeds.
Among his sinister collection, Allington had amassed over 1,500 images of children, including 252 classified as Category A pictures, which represent the most severe form of child exploitation. He has now been handed an 18-year and eight-month prison sentence, along with an additional six years to be spent under supervision upon release.
Allington had previously pleaded guilty to 17 charges related to child rape, sexual assault, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, possessing indecent images of children, distributing indecent images of children, and possessing prohibited images.
In court, the baby boy’s father conveyed how his son sometimes enters a trance-like state following the traumatic abuse. The mother expressed that her world had shattered, and the family had been irreparably harmed by Allington’s actions.
During the trial, it was revealed that Allington subjected the infant to an extended period of sexual assaults and rape. Disturbing conversations with other predators exposed his discussions about the ease of abusing babies, as they are defenseless.
Judge Catherine Richards acknowledged the lifelong impact of such a nightmare on the child, especially considering the abuse occurred during a crucial developmental phase. She ordered Allington to serve a minimum of two-thirds of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole and placed him on the sex offenders register for life.
South Wales Police Detective Constable Amanda Jenkins, who led the investigation, emphasized the shocking nature of such offenses, especially when committed by someone in a position of trust. She assured the community that the victims had been supported and safeguarded throughout the investigation and praised the remarkable strength and courage displayed by the victim’s family during the case’s proceedings.
