School Bus Crashes Into New Jersey Home: One Person Injured
A school bus, carrying students, crashed into a house in New Jersey, causing extensive damage. The Edison Police Department has closed Rahway Road near Ziga Lane due to a "motor vehicle accident."
The bus left the road, plowed through a fence, and collided with a portion of the house's garage, as reported by Fox5 NY. Although initial reports suggest one minor injury, the identity of the injured person remains unclear.
The remaining students were safely transferred to another bus, according to Fox5 NY. Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan explained that the accident resulted from the bus's brake failure, forcing the driver to navigate through a field to avoid hitting other homes.
Remarkably, no one inside the house was injured during the crash.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Edison Police Department for comment on the incident.
In a separate incident in Suffolk, Virginia, a school bus carrying 12 children overturned on its way to Southwestern Elementary School, resulting in minor injuries for both the driver and the children.
Earlier in October, a tragic incident occurred when a 17-year-old high school senior in Florida was struck and killed by a school bus while riding his bicycle near the school's entrance. The accident took place outside Lake Minneola High School in Clermont, where the teenager was struck while in a marked crosswalk.
The driver of the school bus, a 78-year-old woman, turned left without noticing the teen in the crosswalk, resulting in a collision. Fortunately, the school bus driver and two adult passengers on the bus were unharmed.
These recent incidents serve as stark reminders of the importance of safety on school buses and the need for cautious driving around these vehicles.
