BREAKING: Sara Sharif’s Parents Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
In a dramatic turn of events, Urfan Sharif, 41, and his partner Beinash Batool, 29, were apprehended by law enforcement upon their return to the United Kingdom. This arrest comes in connection with the tragic death of Sara Sharif, a 10-year-old girl whose lifeless body was discovered at her residence in Woking, Surrey, on August 10.
Urfan Sharif, along with Batool, had been evading authorities for weeks, seeking refuge in Pakistan, accompanied by Sharif’s brother, Faisal Malik, and five young children, aged between one and 13 years old. Interpol launched an international manhunt, with Pakistani and UK law enforcement agencies collaborating on the case.
Today, Pakistani authorities confirmed that the trio has been arrested and extradited to the UK, landing at Gatwick Airport. Upon arrival, they were promptly detained by the police. Subsequently, it has been disclosed that Urfan Sharif and Beinash Batool are being held on suspicion of murder.
A spokesperson for the police stated, “Our investigation into the death of 10-year-old Sara Sharif was launched following the discovery of her body at her home address in Hammond Road, Woking, on 10 August. This evening, around 7.45pm, three people were arrested in connection with this investigation at Gatwick Airport.”
The arrested individuals, a 41-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, and a 29-year-old woman, will remain in custody and will undergo questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. Sara’s mother has been informed of these developments and is receiving support from specialized officers during this difficult period.
Surrey Police had previously announced their efforts to ensure the safe return of Sara’s five siblings from Pakistan, following a court decision to temporarily place the children in a government childcare facility. The details regarding the ultimate destination and duration of their stay remain uncertain.
As for Sara’s tragic passing, an inquest revealed that a definitive cause of death has not yet been established. However, it is suspected to be unnatural, as a previous post-mortem examination unveiled multiple and extensive injuries, likely sustained over an extended period.
