Royal Input on Meghan’s ‘Suits’ Dialogue, Creator Confirms

Suits Creator Reflects on Meghan Markle’s Royal Romance and Show Impact

Remember the excitement we all felt when Meghan Markle started dating Prince Harry? Well, it turns out that Aaron Korsh, the creator of the TV show “Suits,” felt the same way. He recently shared his thoughts about working with Markle and how her royal relationship affected the show.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Korsh talked about his initial reaction to Markle’s romance with the prince. He humorously teased, “I mean, your initial reaction is, like, ‘We’re all dating a prince!'” It’s safe to say that the rest of us can relate to that level of excitement.

For those who might not know, “Suits” was a legal drama that aired on the USA Network for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. Meghan Markle played the role of ambitious paralegal Rachel Zane until 2018, when she left the show and married Prince Harry.

Interestingly, during her time on the show, Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry became public in 2016. Korsh shared that the royal family even had some input on the show’s content. He revealed that they once sent a message to the “Suits” team about a piece of dialogue they weren’t happy with.

Korsh explained that there was a scene involving Rachel and another character, Mike Ross, where they were going to use the word “poppycock.” However, the royal family had concerns about this word, so it was changed to “bulls–t” to avoid any online misunderstandings.

While Korsh wasn’t thrilled about the change, he understood the reasons behind it. He suspected that the royals didn’t want any inappropriate online clips involving Markle’s dialogue.

In fact, even Prince Harry shared a similar experience in his memoir. He mentioned that the palace communications team often advised the show’s writers to alter lines and actions for Markle’s character.

“Suits” gained popularity during its original run, but it’s become even more popular thanks to streaming platforms like Netflix and Peacock. In fact, there’s even talk of a potential reboot of the show, although getting the original cast back might be a challenge.

Korsh’s humor and insights into working with Markle and the impact of her royal relationship on the show offer a unique perspective on this chapter of television history.
