Repeat DWI Offender Kills Pedestrian: Texas Driver Faces Accusations

Repeat DWI Offender Charged in Fatal Pedestrian Accident

A Texas woman is facing serious charges after allegedly hitting a pedestrian while driving under the influence. Kyli Phillips, 26, has a history of DWI offenses and is accused of striking a 63-year-old man, Howard Graham, near Abrams Road in Dallas at around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

Witnesses on the scene informed FOX 4 Dallas that immediately following the accident, Phillips was seen leaving her white 2019 Chevy Camaro and holding an alcoholic beverage in a can. Tragically, Graham passed away shortly after the incident, as reported by another eyewitness.

“I witnessed the aftermath from my patio and sadly, it was clear that the man had passed away,” said Kimberly Polen, a witness to the scene.

Upon arrival, police officers noticed Phillips’ watery, red eyes and the scent of alcohol emanating from her. She declined to respond when questioned about her alcohol consumption that night and chose not to participate in field sobriety tests.

This is not the first time Phillips has faced charges related to driving while intoxicated. She had previously been found guilty of DWI offenses in Van Zandt County in 2018 and Southlake in 2022, according to FOX 4.

After her arrest, Kyli Phillips was taken to Dallas County Jail, where she is being held on a bond of $75,000.

It’s a somber reminder of the dangers of drunk driving and the devastating consequences it can have on innocent lives. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
