NFL Star Matthew Stafford Downplays Wife’s Comments on Team Dynamic
NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford isn’t losing sleep over his wife Kelly Stafford’s recent remarks about the Los Angeles Rams’ team dynamics. During a podcast episode in August, Kelly, 34, expressed concerns about her husband, 35, connecting with the younger players on the team.
Matthew addressed the issue during a press conference on September 6, reassuring everyone, “I’m not too worried about it. Nobody in the locker room’s too worried about it, I can promise you that,” according to ESPN. He emphasized that they’ve moved past it and even cracked a joke about his age to lighten the mood with reporters.
“I was gonna come out here with a newspaper under my arm and some spectacles just to kind of set the mood,” he joked. “But it turns out, you can’t even find a newspaper around here, so I couldn’t do that. I was gonna try to have some fun with it.”
Owning Up to Mistakes
Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford (née Hall), has faced her fair share of controversies. Despite being married to the Rams’ current quarterback, she’s found herself in hot water on more than one occasion. He stated, “I know Kelly well enough to know that she was probably taking a good old rib at the old man as her husband’s getting older playing.” McVay praised Stafford for his exceptional performance and emphasized the strong bond between him and his teammates.
Kelly has made headlines before, from selling game tickets to criticizing the NFL’s handling of COVID-19 to a pretzel-throwing incident at a Rams game against the San Francisco 49ers. The Staffords are known for their outspoken nature, but their love for family remains at the forefront.
