Prison Officer Jailed for Illicit Relationship and Contraband Smuggling
A prison officer, Joanne Hunter, aged 27, has been sentenced to three years in jail for her involvement in an inappropriate relationship with an inmate and smuggling contraband into HMP Forest Bank in Salford. The verdict came after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office, along with admitting to bringing cannabis into the prison.
Hunter’s illicit relationship with inmate Connor Willis led her to smuggle various packages, including cannabis, into the correctional facility. Additionally, explicit photographs sent by Hunter to Willis were discovered on her phone.
