Armed Police Respond to Dog Attack, Two Women Hospitalized

In a swift response to a distressing dog attack, armed police have hurried to a park where the incident took place, resulting in two women being admitted to the hospital.

Emergency services were immediately dispatched to Leigh Road, Manchester, and in order to secure the area, the road was closed off.

A single dog was apprehended by officers during their thorough search of the road.

An onlooker recounted witnessing a woman, “with her hands all bandaged up,” being carefully transported into an awaiting ambulance.

The incident unfolded on a Saturday morning at 11:30 am, when one dog initiated an attack on another dog.

Reports indicate that the owners of both canines suffered injuries, which fortunately, are not deemed life-threatening, as they tried to separate the two animals during the confrontation.

Unfortunately, one of the dogs sustained severe injuries and is presently undergoing treatment.

A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police provided insights: “At around 11:30 am on Saturday, 2 September, officers responded to reports of a dog attacking another dog on a playing field near Leigh Road.”

“Specialist officers and emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene. Both animal owners were taken to the hospital with bite injuries that are not considered life-threatening nor life-changing.”

“Preliminary investigations reveal that the dog responsible broke free from its collar and initiated an attack on another dog in the field.”

“During the attempt to separate the dogs, both owners sustained injuries.”

“The other dog is in a critical condition and is receiving medical attention.”
