Parents say American Airlines flight attendant put hidden camera in bathroom to record daughter: ‘Disgusting’

Hidden Camera Found in First-Class Airplane Bathroom: Parents of Teenage Girl Speak Out

In a shocking incident that unfolded on an American Airlines flight, the parents of a teenage girl have come forward, alleging that a flight attendant surreptitiously placed a hidden camera in the first-class bathroom to record their daughter. The incident occurred on September 2, when the flight landed at Boston Logan International Airport from Charlotte, N.C.

Privacy Violation Unveiled

The family, choosing to remain anonymous, disclosed in an interview with Fox News Digital that their 14-year-old daughter is deeply upset and shocked by the violation of her privacy during the flight. According to the teen’s father, the unsettling episode began when the girl attempted to use the coach bathroom, only to be redirected to the first-class lavatory by a male flight attendant, who claimed it would be quicker.

Once inside the first-class bathroom, the flight attendant asked the teen to wait while he supposedly washed his hands and attended to garbage collection. After about a minute, he emerged and informed her that the seat was broken. Trusting his words, she entered the bathroom but was perplexed to find red tape affixed to the toilet seat, indicating a malfunction.

Alarming Discovery

Upon closer inspection, the teenager noticed a smartphone concealed beneath the red tape, its light ominously glowing. She quickly snapped a photo as evidence. After exiting the bathroom, the male flight attendant promptly returned to the restroom.

The alarmed teen informed her mother, who, in turn, warned another passenger in first-class not to enter the restroom due to the camera’s presence. When the mother subsequently checked the bathroom, the phone had disappeared.

Confronting the Flight Attendant

The father confronted the male flight attendant with the incriminating photo, causing the attendant to turn pale. He claimed ignorance about the situation, asserting he had never seen such a thing before. The family promptly reported the incident to other flight attendants, prompting the captain’s involvement and law enforcement’s intervention upon landing at Boston Logan International Airport.

The family was escorted off the plane first, and they provided statements to state police and the FBI. Subsequently, the male flight attendant was removed from the flight, and the teen identified the phone as the one she had discovered in the restroom.

Silence from American Airlines

Despite the gravity of the situation, the family expressed their surprise at American Airlines’ lack of communication since the incident nearly two weeks ago. The parents, who hold platinum status with the airline, had expected a prompt response but received none.

A Deep Violation of Privacy

The father, deeply troubled by the incident, emphasized the severity of the violation of his daughter’s privacy, expressing his disbelief that a flight crew member, entrusted with passengers’ safety, could engage in such behavior. He underscored the embarrassment and emotional distress suffered by his teenage daughter.

Investigation Ongoing

The FBI and Massachusetts State Police have responded to the incident, but both have refrained from commenting further. American Airlines did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

Legal Action

The family’s attorney, Paul Llewellyn of Lewis & Llewellyn LLP, called the incident outrageous and asserted that it should have never happened. He urged anyone who witnessed the event to come forward and contact [email protected].

This shocking incident raises concerns about passenger safety and privacy, highlighting the need for swift action and accountability in such cases.
