Ohio Woman Charged After Pointing Toy Gun at Deceased Daughter’s Ex-Boyfriend
A startling incident unfolded in Ohio, where a woman faces charges for allegedly brandishing a fake gun at her daughter’s ex-boyfriend. Julie Mastin, aged 36, reportedly visited the ex-boyfriend’s residence in Clermont County on August 27th. According to reports from WXIX, she cornered the 16-year-old boy in his own garage.
Mastin, in a distressing turn of events, produced what appeared to be a real gun but was, in fact, a toy. Frighteningly, she aimed it at the young boy, uttering the chilling words, “You’re next,” before attempting to pull the trigger.
In a swift response, the victim instinctively dropped to the ground when he heard the ominous click of the gun. In a courageous act of self-defense, he reached for his phone, beginning to record the incident out of fear for his life. This harrowing incident has shaken the community.
It’s important to note that Mastin’s daughter tragically lost her life to suicide in March, a devastating event that undoubtedly has had a profound impact on her. However, the desperate circumstances cannot justify endangering another person’s life.
The boy’s mother voiced her concern, acknowledging the pain of Mastin’s grief but insisting that it should never manifest in a manner where her son is confronted with a weapon. She firmly expressed her desire for Mastin to cease any further contact with her child.
Julie Mastin now faces serious legal consequences for her actions. She has been charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated menacing, and burglary. Her bond was recently increased from $55,000 to $105,000.
