9-Year-Old Girl Missing, Authorities Launch Search Operation

New York authorities are in the midst of a relentless search for a 9-year-old girl who vanished from Moreau Lake State Park on Saturday evening, leaving her family and the community deeply concerned.

Disappearance at Moreau Lake State Park

Charlotte Sena, a 9-year-old girl, was last spotted on Loop A around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. She was dressed in an orange tie-dye Pokémon shirt, dark blue pants, black Crocs, and a gray bike helmet. According to New York State Police, she disappeared during a camping trip with her family after embarking on a bike ride in the park.

Described as a White girl with blonde hair, standing at 5-foot-1 and weighing 90 pounds, Charlotte’s sudden disappearance has raised alarm.

Governor’s Concern

On Sunday afternoon, Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) addressed the public regarding Charlotte Sena’s disappearance. She expressed her deep concern, mentioning that she had met with Sena’s distraught parents.

“They [were] here to make memories, the kind that last a lifetime,” Hochul stated. “But instead, the day turned into every parent’s nightmare.”

She continued, “Everybody thought of her as just a really nice girl, the kind that people wanted to be friends with, the kind that looked out for other children. The pride of every parent. So it’s a very hard time for her family.”

Intensive Search Efforts

Charlotte Sena hails from Saratoga County, and multiple agencies have been actively involved in the search operation. They are utilizing helicopters, bloodhounds, K-9s, air boats, and ATVs in their relentless efforts to locate her.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance have led authorities to believe that she is in imminent danger of serious harm or even death.

Puzzling Disappearance

The call reporting her disappearance came in around 6:45 p.m. Her bicycle was reportedly found, though it remains unclear whether it was discovered by family members or first responders. Stephanie O’Neil, State Police Troop G Public Information Officer, mentioned that Charlotte Sena is known as a highly intelligent and adventurous 9-year-old, making this situation highly unusual for her.
