New details come to light about LASD deputy shot, killed in suspected ‘ambush attack’

Deputy Killed in Apparent Ambush: Surveillance Footage Reveals Moments Before Tragedy

In a chilling incident, surveillance footage has come to light, shedding light on the moments leading up to the tragic shooting of a deputy. The video, obtained by FOX 11 Los Angeles, captures a black car pulling up alongside a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department cruiser at a red light. Although the video does not show the actual shots being fired, it depicts the black vehicle swiftly driving away, leaving the sheriff’s cruiser slowly inching forward and eventually coming to a halt.

A vigilant citizen made a grim discovery when they spotted the deputy slumped in his cruiser outside the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station in Palmdale, California. The concerned individual promptly alerted other deputies inside the station.

The injured deputy, identified as 30-year-old LASD Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, was initially rushed to the hospital in his cruiser. However, en route, an ambulance intercepted them, as reported by FOX 11.

Ryan Clinkunbroomer was then transferred to the ambulance, and another deputy took his cruiser to a medical center in Lancaster.

During a press conference on Saturday night, Sheriff Robert Luna appealed to the public for assistance, stating, “We really need your help. We need to get this guy off the street — guy or guys. He ambushed and killed one of our deputies. We need your help to get him off the street.” Sheriff Luna emphasized that LASD would exhaust all available resources to bring those responsible for Clinkunbroomer’s death to justice.

Deputy Clinkunbroomer, an eight-year veteran of LASD, had served the Palmdale and Antelope Valley communities with unwavering dedication, according to Sheriff Luna. Notably, his family had a deep-rooted history within the sheriff’s department, with both his father and grandfather having served.

Sheriff Luna, in a poignant message, stated, “I want to let our community know Deputy Clinkunbroomer left his family tonight to serve our community. He laid everything on the line to serve us. He wore a uniform just like other @LASDHQ deputies wear, driving in a police car, and he was senselessly murdered tonight.”

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face daily in their commitment to safeguarding their communities.
