Mum Horrified to Find Photo of Nurse Linked to Baby’s Death
In a chilling revelation, Emily Morris, a 35-year-old mother who tragically lost her baby boy Alvin due to muscular dystrophy when he was just one month old, has expressed her shock after discovering a photograph featuring the infamous nurse Lucy Letby alongside her deceased son. This unsettling image was taken at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2013, a full two years before Letby commenced her sinister year-long spree of baby killings at the same facility.
Emily’s sense of unease stems from the discovery of this photograph taken during Alvin’s christening, in which Letby is seen standing over the baby. This discovery has prompted Emily to call for a reinvestigation into her son’s death, as the police had concluded back in 2018 that no suspicious circumstances were present. The haunting photo casts a haunting shadow on the Countess of Chester Hospital, as it was taken just prior to Letby’s horrific spree during which she was eventually given a whole life order for murdering seven infants and attempting to kill six more.
Emily and Alvin’s stepfather Mark Lewis came across the photo recently, stored on a disc within a memory box they were unable to access earlier. Emily expressed her disgust, stating, “I feel sickened to see she was there. Lucy Letby told us Alvin was deteriorating the night before he died. In the morning, he was dead, which is weird. It’s like she was hinting that she did something. I think she’s sick. Alvin was a happy little chappy, always smiling.”
The photograph captures Letby touching Alvin’s blanket while Emily holds him, and it is unsettling that the nurse had written in Alvin’s christening book: “To Alvin, with love on your special day.” Emily finds this eerie and has shared that it deeply disturbs her to look at it, questioning how anyone could harm a defenseless baby.
Emily’s call for a reinvestigation into her son’s death comes as a plea for clarity. She questions why Letby was with Alvin the night before his passing and emphasizes that the next day, they were informed that he had passed away. This sequence of events strikes Emily as suspicious, fueling her belief that Letby might have been involved.
In response to this ongoing investigation, NHS staff have been notified that they will be required to provide evidence under oath. Health Secretary Steve Barclay has indicated that a full statutory inquiry with the authority to compel witnesses will be launched, as concerns arose that some health executives could attempt to evade the inquiry. The Treasury has already allocated substantial funding to support this process, considering previous inquiries in similar cases have incurred costs of up to £13 million.
