Tragedy Strikes Montenegro as Bus Plunges into Ravine: Two Dead, Nine Seriously Injured
In a harrowing incident that unfolded on Tuesday in Montenegro, a bus carrying around 30 passengers met with a devastating accident. Two lives were tragically lost, and nine individuals sustained severe injuries as the bus careened off the road and into a deep ravine.
The unfortunate incident occurred around noon when the bus abruptly veered off course while navigating a steep roadway. This road, connecting the picturesque coastal town of Budva on the Adriatic Sea to the mountainous inland town of Cetinje, bore witness to this dreadful mishap.
A passenger on board recalled, “I was listening to music, everything seemed ordinary. Then, out of nowhere, screams filled the air, and the sound of shattering glass shattered the calm.”
The exact cause of this catastrophic accident remains uncertain at this point. Distressing images captured the heroic efforts of rescue workers clinging to a sturdy metal wire as they fought their way to the wreckage.
Medical professionals on the scene have reported that nine individuals sustained severe injuries, with one person’s condition described as life-threatening. Among the victims, one was identified as a British national, while the other remains unidentified.
Authorities, via their official communication channel, revealed that the unfortunate victims lost their lives at the scene of the accident, while the injured received immediate medical assistance in Cetinje. Subsequently, those with critical injuries were transferred to a hospital in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica.
