Manhunt Underway After Man Spotted with Suspected Firearm in Gravesend
In a concerning incident, a man was observed in Gravesend, Kent, seemingly carrying what appeared to be a machine gun. The local police have launched a manhunt to apprehend this individual.
The incident unfolded on September 2nd at 6:10 am when concerned residents reported the man’s suspicious behavior on Pelham Road. Despite an intensive three-hour search conducted by the police, the man remained elusive.
To aid in the search, the Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed a drone, hoping to locate the individual who was dressed entirely in black attire.
One video, shared on social media under the title “Good old Gravesend,” captures the man pointing the alleged firearm straight ahead and running. The witness who recorded the incident expressed their shock, stating, “Nice thing to turn up to work to this morning… Someone chasing people around with a machine gun. Good old Gravesend.”
It remains unclear whether the object in the man’s possession is indeed a firearm. In another video, he is seen ducking and using the object as a walking stick while casually strolling past a driveway.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Rabey emphasized the ongoing investigation, stating, “An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing, and our officers are continuing to explore several lines of enquiry to identify and locate the suspect. It is important we speak to the man pictured, and I would urge anyone who recognizes him or who has any other information to call us on 999, quoting reference number 46/157727/23.”
The situation in Gravesend raises concerns within the community, prompting authorities to take swift action in their efforts to identify and apprehend the individual involved.
