Aunt Appeals for Prayers as Search Continues for Missing Nine-Year-Old
The aunt of a missing nine-year-old girl has made a heartfelt plea for support, urging people to keep praying as police intensify their search efforts.
Charlotte Sena vanished at approximately 6:15 PM on a Saturday evening while camping with her family at Moreau Lake State Park, located 50 miles north of Albany, the capital of New York State.
Police express grave concerns for Charlotte’s safety, believing she was taken under circumstances that place her in immediate peril. Consequently, an amber alert for a “child abduction” was issued by authorities on Sunday morning.
In an emotional TikTok video, Charlotte’s aunt, Jene Lucianai-Sena, called upon the public for assistance and information related to the suspected abduction. She shared, “There isn’t any information that we can share at this time, but if you can keep sharing her photo and praying, that is truly the best our family can ask for right now.”
She further implored, “If you know anything at all, please contact the New York State Police. If you know anyone living around the area, any information would be invaluable to their investigations.”
Charlotte was last seen wearing an orange tie-dye Pokemon T-shirt, dark blue trousers, black Crocs, and a grey bike helmet.
In a statement to Sky News’ US partner network NBC News, her family emphasized, “We just want her safely returned, like any concerned parent would. No tip is too small – please call if you know anything at all.”
Over 100 personnel and 75 law enforcement officials, along with K-9 units, drones, boats, and six underwater rescue teams, have been mobilized in the search, as confirmed by New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
Governor Hochul revealed that Charlotte and her family were camping a mere 15 minutes from their home, and she had been riding Loop A of the park with family friends. When she expressed her desire to do one more lap by herself and did not return after 15 minutes, her parents and fellow campers initiated a search.
At 6:45 PM local time, Charlotte’s bike was found, but her whereabouts remain unknown.
Governor Hochul expressed her sympathy, saying, “As a mother and as a grandmother, I cannot imagine the pain they’re going through. Hopefully, there will be a reunion, hopefully, there will be a family that has been traumatised but reunited.”
