Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake’s Friendly Encounter at MTV VMAs
Despite a seemingly tense moment at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake are all about love and good vibes.
Megan, 28, shared a candid TikTok video on September 13, showing her and Timberlake, 42, hanging out backstage. With a playful caption that read, “I just talk with my hands lol. See ya next time @justintimberlake,” the two artists appeared to be in high spirits.
In the short clip, shot at a VMAs afterparty, Megan and Timberlake engaged in animated conversation. Megan even playfully pointed her finger while talking to the former ‘NSync singer, who couldn’t contain his laughter.
The background music, “Fukai Mori” by Do as Infinity, drowned out their conversation, leaving fans curious about what they were discussing.
A Night of Fashion and Music at MTV VMAs 2023
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards kicked off with a bang, showcasing top-notch music talent and fashion on the red carpet. This annual extravaganza returned to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on September 12, drawing music’s biggest names.
Megan, who performed her hit “Bongos” alongside Cardi B during the awards ceremony, made headlines when she crossed paths with Timberlake backstage. In a viral video shared on social media, it seemed like Megan was upset with Timberlake, pointing and shaking her head as he approached.
However, a close source clarified that there was no bad blood. “Meg loves Justin. She was saying ‘No, no, no, we’ve never met before.’ It was their first time meeting, and she was excited.”
Taylor Swift Shines at MTV VMAs 2023
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards featured a star-studded lineup, and Taylor Swift was among the evening’s big winners. The event took place at the Prudential Center on September 12, celebrating its 40th annual edition.
Moments before the memorable Megan-Timberlake exchange, Timberlake’s former band ‘NSync, consisting of JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick, graced the main stage. They presented the award for Best Pop Video, reminiscing about their win over 20 years ago.
Timberlake announced Taylor Swift as the winner of her first award of the night. Swift, 33, humorously remarked, “I’m not doing well pivoting. Like, I had your dolls. Like, are you doing something? What’s going to happen now? They’re going to do something, and I need to know what it is. You guys are pop personified, and to receive this from your golden pop hands is — really, it’s too much.”
In the end, it was a night filled with music, fashion, and some unexpected, but friendly, encounters.
