New Tip Line Launched in Suzanne Morphew’s 2020 Disappearance and Death
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has introduced a new tip line for information concerning the 2020 disappearance and death of Suzanne Morphew, a wife and mother of two. Morphew, aged 49, vanished during a bike ride near her home in Chaffee County on Mother’s Day in 2020. Recently, investigators located her remains in a desert area locally known as “The Boneyard” in Saguache County, roughly 45 miles from her last known location.
An attorney for the Morphew family, Iris Eytan, conveyed their desire for a collective effort to find those responsible for Suzanne’s death. They also extended their well wishes to Edna Quintana’s family, hoping for her swift discovery.
Suzanne Morphew’s remains were uncovered during the search for another missing woman, Edna Quintana, who was last seen on May 3, 2020, in the Saguache County area. The investigators are now soliciting information from the public regarding Morphew’s disappearance and death through a newly established tip line.
CBI has established the tip line to collect any pertinent information related to Suzanne Morphew’s case. The public is encouraged to report information by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling 719-312-7530.
Suzanne Morphew’s bike was found in a ravine near her home on the same day she went missing. Her husband, Barry Morphew, maintained he was working in Broomfield, Colorado, at the time.
Initially, Barry faced charges of murder and tampering with evidence related to his wife’s disappearance. However, text messages between Suzanne and Barry, revealed in June, suggested they were both having extramarital affairs prior to her vanishing. In 2022, prosecutors dropped the charges against Barry, citing the need for more time to locate Suzanne’s body. This decision followed procedural violations by the 11th Judicial District Attorney Linda Stanley.
Subsequently, Barry initiated a $15 million lawsuit against prosecutors and investigators, alleging violations of his constitutional rights. Despite these developments, no other arrests have been made in the case, and the charges against Barry Morphew were dismissed without prejudice, leaving room for potential future charges.
