Mystery Unearthed: Human Skull Found in Goodwill Donation Box

In an unusual and puzzling discovery, Goodyear Police in Arizona stumbled upon a human skull within the confines of a Goodwill store donation box. The skull, sporting a fake left eye and teeth still intact, was found on a Tuesday.

Goodyear Police Public Information Officer Lisa Berry shared, “When Goodyear Police arrived on-scene, they did discover that there was indeed what appeared to be a human skull.” She further added that upon closer examination, they decided to send it to the medical examiner’s office for further scrutiny.

Subsequent to the initial investigation, Goodyear Police revealed in a tweet that the skull was indeed human and seemed to have a historical origin, with no apparent connection to any criminal activity.

Goodwill’s Protocol

Officials at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona adhered to their company’s protocol by promptly reporting the unusual donation to the police. However, the identity of the donor and the eventual fate of the skull remain shrouded in mystery. As of Thursday, the police had no additional information to share regarding this enigmatic discovery.

Goodwill’s corporate office had yet to respond to requests for comments by Fox News Digital as of Friday.

A Desk with Secrets

Interestingly, this discovery at a Goodwill store echoes a previous incident earlier this year. In Gilbert, Arizona, Jenna Franzoy purchased an antique secretary’s desk for a mere $20 from Goodwill. Upon bringing it home, she stumbled upon a “secret drawer” hidden within the desk.

Within this secret compartment, Franzoy found a treasure trove of historical artifacts, including letters, newspaper clippings, songs, sports articles, and farm-related documents dating back as far as a century. These items seemed to be associated with a single family.

Franzoy, determined to reunite these historical pieces with their rightful owners, turned to Facebook, where she shared her discovery. It was through this post that she connected with a woman named Shirley Knight, who revealed her relation to Martha McCollough, the owner of the desk and its hidden treasures. Knight even found her own birth announcement among the historical documents.

The mystery of the human skull found in the Goodwill donation box continues to baffle authorities, leaving many questions unanswered.
