Hulk Hogan Drops 18kg After Quitting Alcohol: “It Changed Everything”
Former WWE legend Hulk Hogan, aged 70, has shed a whopping 18 kilograms, and he credits his impressive transformation to a surprising change – giving up alcohol eight months ago. The wrestler, known for his iconic career, revealed that this decision marked a significant turning point.
Hogan recalled his journey, mentioning that he consumed his last alcoholic drink on New Year’s Eve. Initially planning to take a brief break from drinking, he found himself staying away from alcohol altogether, abstaining from even a single sip since that night.
Sharing his insights with TMZ, Hogan shared a couple of factors that contributed to his weight loss journey. He stated, “I wasn’t eating late at night – I wasn’t eating junk food anymore. I dropped like 40 pounds right away.”
In his prime as a professional wrestler, Hogan admitted that alcohol was a constant presence. “We’d have beers before the matches. Beers after the matches. And we’d go to the hotel and all meet down at the bar. It was kinda like part of the whole wrestling genre,” he revealed in an interview with the US outlet.
Despite his alcohol-free stretch of eight months, Hogan clarified that he’s not saying goodbye to alcohol for good. If he does decide to drink again, he intends to take a more moderate approach compared to his younger days. He remarked, “I would never drink daily, you know, like I did when I was wrestling,” during his conversation with TMZ.
Hogan’s past hasn’t been without its share of controversy. In 2007, recordings surfaced where he made racist remarks about his daughter Brooke’s ex-boyfriend, leading to his removal from the WWE Hall of Fame. After a three-year suspension, he was eventually reinstated into the Hall of Fame.
The journey of Hulk Hogan’s weight loss serves as a testament to the impact of making healthier lifestyle choices. His decision to part ways with alcohol has not only led to a significant physical change but has also sparked discussions about his wrestling career and the evolving nature of his habits.
