GP ‘had sex with string of women in his consulting room and lied that his mum was ill to juggle his girlfriends’

Doctor Accused of Inappropriate Conduct with Multiple Women

A doctor allegedly engaged in sexual activity with several women within the confines of his consulting room while deceiving them with false narratives about family illness, according to a tribunal hearing.

Dr. Thomas Plimmer, 40, is accused of exploiting a vulnerable colleague to partake in weekly sexual encounters at his GP practice. In addition, he reportedly showed explicit videos of himself with another woman to the same colleague, which he had recorded on his mobile device.

Dr. Plimmer is said to have invited two other women he met on dating websites to his workplace in Swindon, Wilts, where he engaged in sexual acts during working hours. Shockingly, he had a sexual relationship with one of these women while cohabiting with another.

To maintain these relationships simultaneously, Dr. Plimmer allegedly fabricated elaborate stories about family emergencies, relying on his medical knowledge to lend credibility to his falsehoods. In one instance, he even sent a fake photo of a stranger in a hospital bed, posing as his ailing brother.

Mark Monaghan, representing the General Medical Council, characterized Dr. Plimmer as a “frequent, plausible, and regular liar.”

The tribunal revealed that Dr. Plimmer’s relationship with a colleague began with an inappropriate incident involving a chocolate rabbit innuendo. Later, he reportedly exposed her to explicit content without prior notice, claiming that it was consensual.

Mr. Monaghan asserted that Dr. Plimmer was aware of his colleague’s vulnerability and that his actions constituted an abuse of his position. He continued to make unwelcome advances, sometimes even engaging in sexual activities in her presence.

Despite the allegations, Dr. Plimmer maintains that all activities were consensual. The colleague was allegedly afraid to report or seek help due to fear of repercussions.

The tribunal also heard about encounters with other women. One woman, referred to as Miss B, met Dr. Plimmer on a dating app, and their encounter at the surgery led to discomfort as they engaged in sexual activity behind closed doors. Another woman, Miss C, was subjected to repeated excuses and false claims of family emergencies, allegedly fabricated to enable Dr. Plimmer to maintain multiple relationships simultaneously.

Dr. Plimmer’s conduct extended to other women he met online, one of whom, Miss E, received unsolicited explicit photos taken at his workplace. The doctor is also accused of making threats towards another woman, Miss F.

The tribunal is scheduled to continue until September 29.
