Georgia siblings arrested in shooting where woman fired rifle from moving truck, police say

Siblings Arrested After Drive-By Shooting in Georgia

In a recent incident that unfolded in Georgia, two siblings have found themselves in serious trouble. Joshua Crawford, aged 22, and his sister Kelsey Crawford, aged 30, have been apprehended following a drive-by shooting incident caught on security cameras earlier this week. The Atlanta Police Department has leveled several charges against them in connection with this Sunday incident.

The whole ordeal began around 6:30 p.m. when the police received distressing calls reporting a shooting at a local gas station. Responding swiftly, officers arrived at the scene to discover a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Her condition was grave, prompting an immediate rush to the hospital.

Surveillance footage of the incident revealed a black pickup truck parked at the gas station, with a woman standing beside the passenger side door. Startlingly, she brandished a rifle and began firing shots while the truck was in motion.

Thankfully, a Georgia State Patrol trooper happened to be nearby and intervened, stopping the vehicle and detaining the pair. Inside the vehicle, investigators discovered the rifle. Further investigation revealed that Kelsey Crawford was the shooter, and her brother Joshua was behind the wheel.

Authorities suspect that the motive for this violent act stemmed from an earlier altercation on the same day. Apparently, the female victim who was shot at the gas station had previously shot at and assaulted Kelsey Crawford.

The police issued a statement on the matter, emphasizing the need for non-violent conflict resolution: “This is another example of disputes escalating to violence. This is also a good example of where intervention might have helped. Had the driver tried to stop the suspect from going through with the shooting or refused to assist in the violence, this incident may never have occurred.”

Kelsey Crawford now faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Joshua Crawford, on the other hand, is charged with aggravated assault and fleeing or attempting to elude the police.
