Man Arrested in Florida After Machete Road Rage Incident
In a startling turn of events, a man has been arrested in Florida following a road rage incident in which he wielded a machete, caught on video by a passerby. The incident took place at the intersection of NW 42 Avenue and NW 36 Street, as reported by the Miami Springs Police Department.
Luis Ruiz-Herrera, the perpetrator, was apprehended on Monday in connection with the attack. Witnesses reported that Ruiz-Herrera, armed with a machete, exited his vehicle and approached the victim, who was riding a motor scooter.
Startlingly, the victim managed to dismount the scooter just in time and retreated as Ruiz-Herrera closed in. In a terrifying encounter, Ruiz-Herrera swung the machete, making contact with the left side of the victim’s face.
The whole incident was caught on video by a third-party motorist who was traveling behind the scooter. Police quickly identified and located Ruiz-Herrera, leading to his arrest. He now faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
